Q: When I register a domain, who will it belong to?
A: The domain name will be registered to a Business Name or to the Contact Name you specify. These details are displayed to you at the Invoice stage please double check before you submit the order. If you put a fake name as the owner you risk losing your domain name without refund.
The confirmation email we send you after registration is your proof that you have paid for the registration of the domain. You do not 'own' the domain forever, you do own the rights for the domain during the period of registration you have paid for and you have the right to renewal (you will always get the first option).
UK Domains (.uk) will receive a physical certificate of ownership from the governing body/registrar of .uk domains Nominet UK. You will also receive forms for confirming your details, please complete this and return them to Nominet UK. If you have not received this paperwork please contact Nominet UK on 01865 332211. Note: It can take up to 6 months in somecase for them to arrive due to the huge backlog.
